The Melanie Freiha award is a very special trophy that gets awarded to the Lebanese winner of the 5KM youth race. More than a beautiful trophy to hold, the award comes with an amazing added value. Throughout the year, the @beirutmarathon will be working closely with the winner to empower girls through the sport of running. This mission follows the footpath of Melanie, who believed that every person is capable of so much more than what he/she thinks can.

The world, sadly, did lose Melanie, but her memory will forever remain strong as newer generations of athletes get to know her story. And with the Melanie Freiha award, we tell the story of an amazing soul who lived life to fullest and inspired many along the way.
